Juan (Jenny) Chen

Juan (Jenny) Chen is an associate professor in the College of Computer at the National University of Defense Technology, China. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the National University of Defense Technology, China in 2007. She was visiting professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Riverside from December 2016 to December 2017. Her research work focuses on power and energy efficiency in areas such as high-performance computing, HPC interconnection network power management, parallel numerical algorithms and software development, and large-scale scientific computing applications. Her research work has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Open Fund from State Key Laboratory of High-Performance Computing, etc. She has published papers with others in highly competitive conferences and journals such as SIGCSE, Cluster, TOC, PARCO, RSC, FIE, etc. Recognition for her research includes the best paper award at Cluster 2010 and TURC 2018.

Jenny serves as local co-chairs for the 2019 ACM Global Computing Education Conference (CompEd), program co-chairs for the 2018-2020 ACM TURC (SIGCSE China) Symposium, and on program committees in some conferences including IPDPS, SIGCSE, ACM TURC, HPCC, and ICESS. Jenny also serves as guest editor for the Journal of Tsinghua Science and Technology, Special Issue on High-Performance Computing for the Next Decade.

Jenny is a member of the ACM, the IEEE, the ACM SIGCSE, and the ACM SIGHPC organizations. She is currently the secretary general of the SIGCSE China Chapter, a task force member of the CC2020, a senior member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), a member of the High-Performance Computing Committee of the CCF and a member of the Theoretical Computer Science Technical Committee of the CCF.
